I n t r o d u c t i o n
Choosing the direction of research we stopped at the point of studying the Verbal Phraseological Units in the aspect of finding the rules of their structural modeling, the content of the semantical sense and their stylistic uniquity.
The fact that in the language besides the words there are the whole word complexes, which sometimes are equal to word, and more frequent presents the unique linguistical phenomenon, that differ with its vivid explicitness, image and emotionality, all these serves us as the reason to research this part of linguistics.
The research of peculiarity of Verbal Phraseological Units should be essential to start with the definition of the Phraseological Units.
Phraseological Units are defined as non-motivated word-groups that can be freely made up in speech, but are reproduced as ready-made units.
The actuality of research of Verbal Phraseological Units is presupposed by the fact that the whole complex of interrelated theoretical questions are involved, and each of them is to be studied carefully, and also the insufficient development of the problems dealing with the structural peculiarities of Verbal Phraseological Units, the character of the semantical meaning and function.
The analyzed material was taken by entire selection of the mentioned type of Phraseological Units from the English-Russian Dictionary of Idioms by A.V. Kunin.
A special interest to the Verbal Phraseological Units is aroused by the fact that the verb is the organizing center of the sentence and is characterized by the great number of variations of meaning.
The verb system is the most developed one in comparison with the systems of other parts of speech.
The main objectives of the paper are as follows:
* to analyse the structure of Verbal Phraseological Units and singled out the main structural models;
* to describe the main thematic groups of Verbal Phraseological Units, defined their synonimic, antonymic and polysemantic relations.
